Corfu Trail – Second Part

Part 2 – From Fisherman’s Cabin back to Korfu town

This post is the completion of the story of my trip to Corfu, which began in the first episode Part 1 – From Kavos to Fisherman’s Cabin

After leaving the tavern of the hospitable Kostas, I headed north. The first stop was swimming in the sea close to Agios Georgios. No, I did not return south. In the north of Corfu is simply a small town with the same name. I guess they found it too far at these days and then that the names match didn’t matter.

Behind the hotel, I found perhaps the biggest dump in Corfu, there was even an old bus.

In the hills, I walked through other picturesque villages. I climbed the highest mountain in Corfu – Pantokrator (917 m.n.m.). I slept in the pastures below the summit. Unfortunately, I forgot there my favourite Swiss knife. Perhaps somebody would find him and be happy to have it. I found the same amount of these knives as lost :).

I posted my comments directly to the pictures. I welcome your remarks – just write them under my article.

I finished the trail on Wednesday, 16 October, 11 th day.

Next day I spent travelling the eastern coast of Corfu. I visited scenic town Kassiopi – there are nice places to swim and to rest on the beaches. I hitchhiked part of the way meeting two kind young couples enjoying Corfu in rented cars. One of them I met later on my hike between Kalami and Kamiaky. For the last part of my trip – return to Corfu town – I travelled by bus.

In Corfu town, I rented a flat – unfortunately, my worst experience in Corfu. Thursday and Friday forenoon I went downtown, visited the fortress and found a memorial of Jerry Durrel.

Then just the flight back to Vienna (they managed to pull off the original delay) and train back to Brno (what the airlines pulled off, the train lost again).

Another comment you find in the photo gallery. Narrow on the left starts the presentation, cross-narrows switch to full screen, narrow on the top minimize the control panel and (i) displays picture comments.
